Volunteer Program at St. Alexius Medical Center 
St. Alexius Medical Center Volunteer program plays a vital role in assisting the various departments within the Medical Center. Each day, over 60 volunteers of various ages and backgrounds work together to donate their time to support their hospital and their community. Together, they make a positive difference in the lives of our patients, their families, and our staff.
Exciting and Challenging Opportunities
- Customer service/guest relations: information desk, waiting rooms, gift shop, emergency room, and others
- Patient/nursing staff: Assist patients in wheelchairs; deliver supplies to floors; deliver charts to floors.
- Clerical/Office support: copying, filing, mailing and assisting with projects
Who Can Become a Volunteer?
Individuals who are minimum 14 years old/freshman level in high school and can volunteer four hours per week for a 6 month period.
How Do I Get Started?
- Complete and submit this online application: St. Alexius Medical Center Volunteer Application
- Volunteers are required to attend a mandatory interview AND orientation session
(please note you will be contacted for the interview only if the hospital’s needs for volunteers match your completed application qualifications and your availability)
- Those born after January 1, 1957 must provide documentation of the MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella) vaccination. All volunteers need to provide documentation of a current TB test.
- Undergo a criminal background check if 18 years or older
- Purchase of a St. Alexius volunteer uniform for a nominal fee
- Training in area of volunteer discipline
