Community Services at Alexian Brothers Center for Mental Health
Promoting understanding and awareness of mental illness is a core goal of Alexian Brothers Center for Mental Health. One of the ways we strive to accomplish this is through educational events and presentations in our community.
Services
We offer a number of community education and support services in the Chicago Metropolitan area, including Speakers' Bureau of professionals specially trained in a variety of areas who are available to speak to your organization or community group
- Family education and support when a loved one is struggling with a mental illness
- Mental health awareness and resources for schools, churches, community groups, and organizations including Connections to Care, which is described below
- Suicide awareness and suicide prevention training
- School advocacy to increase mental health awareness and provide education to teachers, social workers, parents, and students to encourage earlier treatment for children and adolescents
- Assistance with gaining access to affordable healthcare resources and referral information
Connections to Care
Our experienced professional staff is available to speak to your workforce on a variety of subjects. This free community service can help employees understand their own mental health and improve their responses to stress and personal problems. We would be happy to come to your company on a lunch hour or as part of a longer presentation before, during, or after work hours.
